10/25/16 Rain Update
Good morning,
Ok the models are coming to agreement on the rain and timing.
Today rain to the North, but will not affect us. Just some high clouds.
Wednesday will be a warm day with a ridge forming, but also some fog in the morning.
Thursday now looks to be dry throughout the day, with rain coming in Thursday night. Rain is going to be heavy both Thursday night and Friday. They are now talking 1 to 2 inches along the coast and up to 4 inches in the south facing mountains. This is a Santa Barbara type storm. South winds and subtropical moisture is going to give us lots of rain. LA will not get as much.
Saturday will be ok, but another weaker storm will bring rain Sunday and Sunday night.

I do feel this system will be much wetter than the news is talking about.
Have a great day.
I will update Wednesday morning
10/14/16 Weekend Weather
Well, time for the Friday rain update. We will have 3 fronts pass though over the next 3 days thanks to an impressive looking low in the Pacific Northwest.
Take a look

However, we are on the tail end of the rain and no rain area.
The first weather system will roll into Monterey around noon today, and then move south. It will begin to fall apart as it reaches SLO. We will have a chance of rain tonight, but not a lot will fall. Better chances will be in Santa Ynez areas.
The second storm will start later Saturday, which will be a chance of rain to most area. Just not heavy. This will be influenced by south flow.
The third system rolls in Sunday. This one looks to give us the best shot of rain. This will arrive Sunday afternoon into the night.
Now let’s not get too excited. The rain totals are going to be 1/10 to 1/4 of an inch for the 3 day totals. Northern California however is going to get a good soaking.
Next week we warm up starting Tuesday
Go Dodgers, great game last night! I made it through the 7th inning. Learn about the victory when I woke this morning. Congrats to the men in Blue!
Have a nice cool, damp weekend.
What a difference a week makes in October
10/13/16 Rain!
Good Thursday morning,
Well as I have been telling you for 2 weeks now. The start of our rainy season is coming. So the forecast should be no surprise to all. Take a look at the satellite picture.
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
There are a series of 3 systems coming down from the Pacific Northwest. Northern California is going to get slammed with rain.
The first large system will affect Nor Cal tonight and drop south. As it is typical for this time of year, the rain will die as it approaches are area. The one change in the forecast is the national weather service now says the cut off of rain is Santa Barbara, instead of North County.
So what does that mean for us…. well at some point this weekend we will see some light rain. Friday through Sunday. Now don’t get too excited. It will not amount to more than 1/4 of an inch in the 72 hour period.
The good news is it does look like we will see some. Most likely Sunday more than Friday. We are on the cut off of rain or no rain. Ventura south should see nothing.
“Good thing my daughter got married last weekend. What a difference a week makes.”
Bottom line it will feel quite like fall and winter instead of the summer weather we had last week.
Temps will be well below normal, bringing wet and damp morning and very cool. Anyone going to outdoor football games should dress warm and bring an umbrella.
Rain chances end Monday morning and will be over the mountains. Then Monday night and Tuesday lots of wind and a nice warm up, as high pressure builds in. Ok enjoy the change of season. We are all hoping for lots of rain this year.
     Enjoy, update Friday morning ![]()
