Good Monday morning,
I hope everyone had a nice holiday. It is back to work for most today.
The forecast is easy, because there will be little changes into the first week in December.
We are expecting low 70s through the week and 50s at night along the coast.
The valley will be much cooler at night in the 30s.
If you want rain and darkness, go to the Pacific Northwest. They have plenty of that.
Here we will remain above normal with temps in the low 70s and no rain for at least the next 10 days. High pressure with on and offshore winds will dominate the forecast in Southern California.
Have a great week!

Good Wednesday morning,
Thanksgiving is here, or at least near. It will be a busy travel day.
I will be thankful to be away from freeways and airports.
Today we will have nice weather with some afternoon northwest winds. 5 to10 miles and hour. The high today will be near 70 and cooler at night.
Tonight through Friday, Ventura south will be rocking with Santa Ana winds. This will also start a nice warm up. Low 70s Thursday and upper 70s and low 80s Friday. No wind in SB.
The extended forecast, we are expecting off shore flow and nice weather through at least Tuesday. Enjoy the great weather this time of year in SCAL, be thankful we celebrate it here.
Here are some photos of the rocket launch last night thanks to Adam.
Thank you Adam. It was way past my bedtime.

Good foggy morning,
The fog is back at around 700 feet thick. It will be like a July day with fog, creating the cooler weather.
Highs today will remain in the 60s along the coast, but in the valleys, mid-70s where there is no fog.
Wednesday, it looks like an eddy will pop up and create cooler weather, with continued fog.
The offshore flow now looks weaker and will not raise temps along the coast.
Thursday, more of the same, upper 60s at the coast with fog, and lower 70s in the valleys.
Friday, a weak system brings in clouds, with a cooler day through Saturday.
Sunday, a slight warm up but still in the upper 60s.
Next week we are looking at a low-pressure system that will form. Models are not sure about what this will do.
Cooler weather and maybe some light rain is possible, but this again is way out. Stay turned.
Enjoy the cooler weather and fog.

Good Monday morning,
What a weekend it was with record breaking heat Friday and Saturday.
Friday, we had a high of 95 and Saturday 87 breaking records both days.
Sunday was more manageable for us, but LA was still in the upper 80s and low 90s.
This week we will all move closer to normal temps, however we will still see above normal temps. As we look at zoom Earth you see a frontal system in the Pacific Northwest which will bring us some cooler weather.
https://zoom.earth/#view=30.2,-138.7,4.13z/date=2021-11-15,05:40,-8
Today still quite warm with 70s and 80s.
Tuesday looks to bring the return to fog later with cooling the daytime temps
Wednesday an inside slider will lead to north winds and warmer temps until Friday.
Friday into the weekend is looking cooler with temps a few degrees below normal.
The holidays are right around the corner with thanksgiving 10 days away.
Then the Christmas count down begins.
Oh my it is that time of year again, enjoy the fantastic California weather in November.
We will remain dry though this month, and we will hope for a wet December.
Have a nice week!

What a fantastic November day it was on Thursday. High of 89 and it was 75 at 7pm.
Today will be another fantastic day, with record breaking warmth. It is a great day to have a flex day at the city of SB and Action roofing. For those lucky ones, I recommend the beach and calls to family outside of california.
The best line I heard last night was “With the weather we are having in November, it makes you wonder why real estate is so cheap here“ Thanks Ed.
Today, we are starting out at 66 degrees and it will only rise as the sun and off shore continues. No wind here, but in Ventura and south, they will have mild for Santa Ana conditions with mountains 30 to 35, but coastal and valleys a mild 10 to 15 miles an hour. Highs will be in the upper 80s and 90s, 15 to 20 degrees above normal.
Saturday, slightly cooler but 10 to 15 degrees above normal still keeps us in the 80s.
Sunday, a little more cooling, but 10 degrees above normal, keeping us in the upper 70s.
Next week, the best I can report is we will see some fog and cooler temps with highs around normal or a few degrees below. Still fantastic weather for anywhere in the country. Now for some bad news, extended models are calling for dry weather all the way through November. Yes Adam, turn those sprinklers back on for at least the rest of this month.
Enjoy the great summer like weather the next few days, you will not see weather like this here for quite a while, likely well into 2022.

Good Thursday morning,
What a fantastic start to the day.

Did you feel the temps rise last night around sunset?
Down sloping winds warmed the air rising to the mid 70s at 6:30 pm.
Montecito hills also experienced winds of 50 miles an hour.
Today the offshore flow moves south to Ventura to LA and the mercury rises for all.
You can see the dome of high pressure over the western US 4 corners. Not a cloud to be found.
https://zoom.earth/#view=31.8,-117.2,5.75z/date=2021-11-11,06:00,-8
Today will be in the 80s with likely the hottest day coming on Friday.
Everyone will experience the heat with 80s and low 90s through Friday.
Saturday will still be quite warm but will likely back down a few degrees, still in the 80s.
Sunday, we start a cooling trend, but still in the 70s.
Next week and beyond, dry weather through next week and likely the week after.
Enjoy the summer conditions.
Mark, it will be warmer here at home then you have in Cabo the next few days.

Good Wednesday morning,
Rain yesterday was so quick that if you blinked, you missed it.
The system was truly the tail end as rain lasted around 10 minutes with barely a trace.
Here are the rain totals for SB county:
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/lox/scripts/getlocal.php?prod=LAXRRMSBA
SLO was a little better with .10 to .50 inch.
Clear skies over Santa Barbara this morning, but further south, low clouds still exist.
Since off shore winds have not kicked in yet. Where fog does exist, it will clear quickly.
Today, expect a warming trend with highs in the upper 70s.
Today through Saturday, Santa Ana conditions will kick in. The days will be warm to hot.
Thursday and Friday will be the hottest days, highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for all valleys and coastal areas.
Saturday will still be quite warm, but not as hot as Friday.
Sunday into next week, some cooling but no rain in sitght, only some fog.
More bad news, the extended forecast is looking dry for the next 2 weeks with no rain in the extended models.
Enjoy the summer weather, we take what Mother Nature gives us.
Summer weather is way better than wind, snow and cold.
Call your friends on the East coast or mid west and ask them how they are, then drop the 90s bomb 🤯 on them.
They will be on a plane filling your extra bedroom.
Enjoy!

Good Tuesday morning,
It looks like we will see a little rain this morning.
Rain is falling in SLO and will start in Solvang around 6:30 am, then arrive in Santa Barbara around 7:30am.
https://zoom.earth/#view=32.89,-117.09,6.81z/date=2021-11-09,04:40,-8
This is going to be a light rain event with the most rain in northern SLO.
Rocky Butte will see a little over an inch. For us, the further south, the less you will see.
Solvang .25 to .33 Santa Barbara .10 to .25 Ventura .10 , LA like 0.
Sunshine should be back before noon and likely 10am as this is only the tail end of the system.
Just a little tease with the rain.

We will have 360 degrees turn around with high pressure and offshore winds heating us up each day through Saturday. Highs will climb into the 80s and some 90s by Friday.
Tonight and Wednesday, SB and Montecito we feel the wind 20 to 25 miles an hour. Then the North-East wind shifts south. The rest of the week we will see sunny and warm through the weekend.
Sunday looks to start a cool down, with a return to fog on Monday.
Enjoy the brief rain, then breakout summer attire.

Good Monday morning,
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend because here we go again.
Today there is rain and snow to the north, SF and mammoth is seeing the wet stuff now.
This system will start it’s way towards us today, but we will only catch the tail end.
It looks like the rain line will stop at Santa Barbara.
Rain over night in SLO and a little in santa Ynez. 1/4 to 1/10 for us in SB, only a 20% chance.
After the low passes by up, it all changes to summer like weather.
We are looking at a strong Santa Ana event with highs in the 80s and 90s the second half of the week. Wednesday it looks like typical North East wind will affect the Montecito hills with 40 to 50 miles an hour.
Wind after will move into Ventura to Santa Monica Thursday and Friday. Hot weather should hang around through Saturday then cooling Sunday. Sadly, it looks like the chance for rain is going to be replaced with wind for areas south of point conception.
Enjoy your week!

Good Friday morning,
The first weekend of a new month. Hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner and Thanksgiving is 19 days away.
Low pressure in Oregon and Washington is bringing rain to those areas, but here, Northeast winds will develop here.
Today we will have the nicest day in the next 5 days with highs from 70 to 80 degrees.
It will be the warmest day in the next 5 especially in the coastal valleys and inland.
Along the south coast you are starting with Fog, but the central coast sunshine. This is thanks to offshore winds.
Winds have not arrived in southern areas yet, so fog is dominating the coastal cities, but just inland sunshine.
Highs today will range from low 70s to low 80s depending on where you live.
This morning along the coast in SB and south, it is Gloomy with dense fog. This will all clear by mid-day and warm us up.
The contrast is just over the San Marcos pass we are fogless, and they will have a high of 85 today.
Saturday, we start a cooling trend, especially in the hottest valleys. 10 degrees cooler for them, highs around 70.
Sunday, cooler again with another 3 to 5 degrees cooler with highs in the mid-60s.
Monday, a low-pressure system to the north begins to move our way. No rain Monday, but cooler again.
Monday night, the rain chances roll in. This is mainly a central coast storm, which might affect Santa Ynez with a little rain.
How much 1/10 to ¼ of an inch, just a weak system. The jury is still out on weather Santa Barbara will see any, but if it does, it will be light amounts.
Later next week we are looking at a possibility of a big warm up with Santa Ana winds heating us up with Indian summer heat.
Enjoy the weekend, don’t forget to turn back the manual clocks Saturday night.
Enjoy the extra hour of sleep, this means I will wake at 2am instead of 3 ☹.

Good Thursday morning,
The shorter days are quite noticeable these days. Day light is starting into the 7am hour and night time a little after 6 pm. We are well under the 12 hours of day light, with winter solstice 45 days away. Sunday morning when you wake up, you may be refreshed to know it is an hour earlier, but sadden to know that day light will come to an end closer to 5pm. Yes, it is that time of year fall, back and spring, forward.
Great weather on tap for the next 2 days then a cooling trend and chance for rain Monday – Tuesday.
Today and Friday we will see nice weather with above normal temps after the fog breaks.
High the next 2 days will be great with upper 70s to 80 degrees.
Saturday, we cool down by 10 degrees and like weather rolls into Sunday, highs in the upper 60s.
The start of the new work week will bring us a chance for rain. Models are still all over the board with this system, but northern areas will get rain for sure. Southern agrees is still in question, but it does appear there will be enough energy to get into LA. 1/4 to 1/2 inch possibly.
This will all come into play Friday when the short-range models bring guessing to reality.
Zoom earth shows a low-pressure system moving into the pacific northwest. And I love the Animation showing the daylight come from the East to West/

Good Wednesday morning,
A warming trend is on tap for all. It is starting out this morning with some dense fog and temps in the 50s, even in the santa Ynez valley.
High pressure and offshore winds will keep us warm with above normal temps through Friday. Highs will be in the upper 70s and low 80s.
Saturday and Sunday we cool off into the upper 60s as cooler air comes in.
Next week, we are still talking about the chance for rain. For us it now looks like Tuesday for a lighter rain with around 1/4 of an inch. We will still need to watch how this develops.
Stay tuned.
Congrats to Randy Rowse.
It looks like Santa Barbara will have a new mayor for the next 5 years.
