3/30/19
Good Saturday morning,
Are we ready for a great weekend? Last night I sat outdoors till 9 pm, enjoying the great spring night. Sonos and fire pit helped make the great weather perfect.
As we all know this is going to be the perfect weekend. So there is nothing more to say.
Fun facts Saturday:
Santa Barbara has 128% of average rainfall for the year, Cachuma is at 78%, Sunday will be above 80 degrees. Maybe a new record.
http://www.countyofsb.org/uploadedFiles/pwd/Content/Water/Documents/rainfallreport.pdf
That’s the fun for the day.
Off to the Burbank airport, heading to Vegas for the weekend!
3/29/19 Weekend Weather
Good Friday morning,
The weekend is fast approaching and warmer weather will be part of it.
Yesterday we had those northwest winds start up in the afternoon and blow into the evening.
Winds are calm now, but we will have 1 more evening of sundowner northwest winds.
Expect winds around 35 miles an hour from the northwest, with Gaviota peaking at 50 miles an hour late in the day.
Saturday, the winds turn to the northeast and Ventura south get the wind. This will also heat up the air with a good off shore wind event.
Saturday will have highs in the mid 70s, calm winds in Santa Barbara. Gusty winds in all Santa Ana wind prone areas, Ventura to Santa Clarita.
Sunday, this will be the warmest day. Highs in the low 80s and a real treat for outdoor lovers.
Monday will be almost just as nice. Looks like highs in the upper 70s. Another great day.
Tuesday, a weak low pressure system moves in. This will cool us and create some marine layer, but no rain.
Wednesday and Thursday look to have a weak ridge and dry weather. As advertised earlier, it looks like the first dry Wednesday in awhile.
Friday, in the distance… a low pressure system will affect the weather with possible rain.
We will see how this all shapes up, but we are getting closer to the end of the rainy season.
Enjoy the great weekend.
Last weekend in March. We welcome April 1st Monday…
3/28/19
Good Thursday morning,
Yesterday was Wednesday, so you know it had to rain….
That was fun yesterday for a few hours of some light to moderate rain.
On the south coast, Santa Barbara was the big winner with 1/4 inch of rain. Most other areas on the south coast got 1/10 or slightly more.
The central coast was the winner with 1/3 to 3/4 of an inch.
Today, one more system, but this will only bring rain in Monterey and north. For us cooler, with below normal temps.
Tonight, sundowner winds. The front washes through and creates typical northwest winds at Jack’s house.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Friday, high pressure builds in. We will start a warm up for the weekend.
Saturday, Santa Ana winds return to Ventura and south. Santa Barbara means warm sunny weather.
Sunday, are you ready for 80s? It will be fantastic with the warmest temps for 2019.
Monday the ridge breaks down and we cool a few degrees, but still great weather.
Tuesday, low pressure and an inside slider starts to move in. This looks to bring back the marine layer, but no rain.
Wednesday is still not real clear, but it does look like we might have the first dry Wednesday in a long time.
All of next week might stay dry… that would be a treat…
Ok enjoy the transition to warmer weather.
3/27/19
Good Wednesday morning,
Here is the low spinning off the coast north of us:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Any rain out of this system will create only showers south of point conception.
The low will drop south towards us by noon and give us some light showers.
Any rain will result in very low accumulation. Looking at 1/10 to 1/4 at best in Santa Barbara and Ventura. LA will likely see only clouds and no rain.
Tonight there still will be a chance of showers, but not much of anything.
Thursday there is a slight chance of rain over the mountains.
In the afternoon, Santa Barbara will experience sundowner winds from the northwest. Winds will likely be 30 miles an hour in the evening.
Friday, high pressure builds in. Looks like a great weekend and Sunday should be the warmest day of 2019 to date.
Highs in the low 80s.
Nice warm weather extends through Monday. Long term models are talking about an inside slider on Tuesday that may bring a chance of rain.
Still too far out to know, but inside sliders are generally dry with only wind.
In the meantime, what little rain we will see today and tonight will be minimal.
Then get ready for a great weekend. Last weekend in March, then we welcome in April on Monday.
Tuesday Morning
Good Tuesday morning,
Here we go, entrenched in another work week.
Today we will see the next weather system start to roll in.
Clouds will begin to stream over the area, making it a cooler day with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
The satellite actually looks quite impressive, but the rain is really falling in the Bay Area to the Pacific Northwest.
For us we will only see the tail end of this.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Looking to tonight, rain will occur in SLO and northern SB county. Don’t expect a lot, 1/10 to 1/4 of an inch.
Wednesday it looks like showers will spread south into Santa Barbara.
Again this is a weak system with 1/4 inch or less.
Thursday the system spins out and moves east.
This will set us up for high pressure and great early summer weather.
The weekend will be sunny and warm. All the way into next week.
Temps should peak Sunday and Monday into the low 80s in areas.
Have a great day.
3/25/19
Good Monday morning,
It sure was a nice Sunday after the little weather system washed out on Saturday.
It actually looked like it was going to rain Saturday, but just some sprits. Sunday certainly made up for Saturday with highs in the low 70s.
Today we will have another repeat of Sunday. It will even be a few degrees warmer. Highs in the mid 70s today.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Tonight a weak storm system moves through to the north. Looks like north of point conception could see a little rain, but only 1/10 of an inch.
We should remain dry south of point conception.
Tuesday will bring some clouds and rain Tuesday night to the north. Rain will hold off in SB until some time Wednesday.
Rain totals 1/4 of an inch for SB and south. North 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
Thursday morning a few showers possible, then nice days ahead.
Friday through the weekend is looking to be a chambers of commerce weekend with highs reaching 80 degrees.
Ok you ready for the work week, of course we will have another Wednesday with rain.
I think we’re going for a Wednesday rain record.
Friday and Weekend Weather
Good morning,
Yesterday’s rain in the morning was expected, but I did not think it would continue until 9:30 am.
All said and done. Rain totals were right in line with what was predicted.
Everyone along the coastal areas saw around 1/3 of a inch.
The real winners were the mountain and San Marcos Pass where 1.13 inch was dropped.
All good news. Wet weather will keep the hills green and creeks flowing.
The satellite is quite active. Lots of Action in the pacific
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Today we will be dry, but a weak system is approaching from the north. We will see the tail end of this one. Rain to the north, and some in Santa Ynez. Santa Barbara and points south will likely see no rain with this one.
North winds drying out any rain that might drop from the sky in SB.
Saturday will be mostly dry, but still a chance that puffy white clouds over the mountain will turn black and create a shower.
Sunday looks dry, a little warm up… nice day over all.
Beyond into next week:
There are 2 more weaker systems that might affect our weather.
Monday night into Tuesday this appears to stay to the north like Saturdays.
Tuesday night into Wednesday looks to be a little wetter, so lighter rain may fall as far south as LA.
All of this is to far out to know for now.
Winter weather is now trending towards spring.
This really means that weather systems or rain will wash out as it approaches Southern California.
Any rain we might see should be on the lighter side.
Enjoy the weekend, it is here again!
Jack Martin
3/21/19 Good Thursday Morning
Look at the worm Moon… funny name for it, but that is what they call the super moon in march.
The ground is thawing and worms make their way to the surface.
Yesterday, rain was not much for SB, but other locations received around an inch of rain. The hills got an inch and downtown only .12.
Today a weak frontal system gave us a little rain this morning. If you look outside the streets are all wet.
Rain showed up around 5 am for a brief period.
There is a chance of showers all day, but this will be more over the mountains. Just like yesterday.
Where it does rain there will be ¼ inch or less.
Friday will be dry, with a weak ridge. Saturday, there is a weak system moving in.
This will not create much rain at all, if any.
Rain should remain north of point conception.
Looks like some weak front moving in every other day, but it should remain dry until Wednesday.
Of course next Wednesday there is another chance of rain.. because it rains every Wednesday.
This one will be weak, however just a light spring rain.
Oh welcome to spring. It arrived yesterday at 2:32 pm.
Have a great day!
3/20/19 Good Wednesday Morning
Good morning, it is Wednesday. That means it must be raining.
This has been a typical pattern for almost 2 months. Today will be no different.
The storm system that is approaching is behaving right as forecast. Last night post frontal rain produced .12 to .20 in the area.
The big winner is Butte near Naciemento with 1.30 inches. This will help to continue to fill the lake which is at 85%.
Cachuma has now hit 76%.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Today expect more rain, showery in nature.
The greatest totals will be on the central coast. Rain will be spotty today with showers only.
For SB the most rain will be this afternoon. Expect 1/10th to 1/2 inch for Santa Barbara.
1/10 to 1/4 for LA and the central coast will be the big winner with around an inch in areas. Mountains up to 2 inches.
Rain chance drop way off after midnight.
Thursday and Friday will be dry. Windy Thursday …. especially northwest winds in Jack’s back yard.
Friday night a weak system approaches. Latest model run calls for rain in the central coast.
Santa Barbara and south should stay dry.
Saturday we clear out, with nice weather Sunday and into next week …
Temps are well below normal, but will start to rebound Sunday and into next week.
Enjoy the rain, we are getting to the end of our season. We have about a month to go.
Rain typically from this point on will be on the lighter side.
Just enough to keep all the hills green and wild flowers blooming …
3/19/19 Tuesday Change
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was sunny, warm and dry. Today we wake to fog, damp and temps 6 to 12 degrees cooler than Monday.
A storm system is approaching, and will allow rain to fall starting tonight.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Looks like 1/4 to 1/2 inch in SB, and Santa Ynez.
A little more in SLO and a little less in LA.
Wednesday looks to still have some showers, however models are backing off some on these.
At this point we will leave the showery forecast in.
Thursday wind. Typical spring winds will whip up from the north west.
Friday a weak ridge pops up, and makes a nice day.
Friday night and into Saturday, another weak system affects us. This will be even weaker then tonight’s system.
Looks like Sunday and Monday will be dry.
Ok, you are up to date, leaving the house this morning will be damp, with some drizzle falling now.
Text at you Wednesday morning.
3/18/19 Good Monday Morning
What a fantastic weekend. Highs were in the 80s and the weather reminded me of what I love about this area.
Today will be nice, but cooler. A weather system is starting to move our way and the dome of high pressure is moving east.
Tuesday the next system moves in. It looks like rain will hold off until the evening and after midnight for LA.
Wednesday looks to be showery with rain here and there.
This is not a big weather system, because there is no subtropical support.
Expect 1/3 of a inch with a little higher On the central coast and a little less in LA.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Thursday and Friday will be dry.
Friday night the next system rolls in. This system now looks to drop some rain on us.
We will watch this as the week goes on.
We are looking for a few days of spring showers this week, but nothing heavy.
Have a great week.
3/18/19 St. Patrick’s Day Forecast
Good Sunday morning,
What a treat we had yesterday. Great weather. Warm sunny 😎 and perfect. if you had the day off.
I drove to LA. It hit 87 degrees in the valley. Santa Barbara did hit the 80 degree mark also.
I even sat on my deck, watched TV, the Worriors played last night for the first time in long time.
Nice to extend the indoors back outside.
Today will be pretty much the same as Saturday, but I get most of the day to enjoy the weather.
Highs will be in the upper 70s and some 80s.
The dome of high pressure is amazing to see on the satellite.
Take a look:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Nice weather will continue through Monday, highs in the low 70s.
Tuesday, a weather system approaches. It looks like any rain will hold off until Tuesday night, or evening.
Rain over night and showers on Wednesday. Looks like the main front Tuesday night will bring us 1/10 to 1/4 inch.
Then Wednesday shower can bring us another 1/4 inch.
Nothing too exciting, just enough to keep the mountains very green.
“They are so pretty this time of year”.
Thursday and Friday will be dry.
Saturday another system approaches. Models now seem to be backing off the rain totals.
Rain may stay to the north of point conception. We will watch this as the week goes on.
In the meantime, enjoy a perfect Sunday.
Happy Saint Patties Day and Happy Birthday to my wife, Peggy Molloy.
Now that’s Irish and born on this day.
3/18/19 Weekend Heat Wave
Good Saturday morning,
Bring the warm weather on. Looks like the next 2 days will be fan-tastic.
Highs in the 70s and some low 80s. The last time LA hit 80 degrees was November 15 2018.
Look at the big dome of high pressure keeping all the clouds away:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
All, if you look to the north over the ocean, this is the next weather system out of Alaska. This will affect our weather Tuesday night and Wednesday. Looks like 1/3 of a inch at this point. Then windy. Friday another system drops in. This will be even colder with showers likely. Rain totals are not clear yet.
In the meantime, enjoy the great weekend.
Cachuma is 74.7% , we should reach 75% today.

Weekend Weather 3/15/19
Good Friday morning,
Did you miss me yesterday? There was no excitement with the weather, so I did not think I needed to write a report.
Until now…
It is going to be a fantastic weekend. A weekend we all have earned with all the rain and cold of this year.
Great weather will continue through Monday.
Saturday and Sunday will in the mid 70s to lower 80s. Just great spring weather.
In Santa Barbara and really everywhere, except Ventura and points with Santa Ana winds. You will need to battle northeast winds today and Saturday.
If you look at the satellite you will see a massive storm in the Midwest.
This is heading north and east. It is really leaving a giant mess behind it, with rivers a stream overflowing there banks.
They will be wishing for a little of our weather.
Take a look:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
In the extended forecast, we are still looking at rain next Tuesday night into Wednesday.
This is still a ways off, but it does look like some rain. It will be a light to moderate storm at best.
We will talk more about this on Monday morning, after our fantastic weekend.
I am going to get on my bike and see if I remember how to power it.
Have a great weekend ….
3/13/2019
Good Wednesday morning,
That wind blew hard all night. I need to go and pluck all the covers and pillows out of the pool.
Winds are going to settle down this morning from the northwest in SB, but pick up from the northeast. Ventura south will feel it now.
The system that went through Monday is now turning north and is going to hammer the Midwest and Colorado.
Take a look, you can see it on the map:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Regarding our weather. We are in for a nice spell of warm, sunny and dry weather.
After all the wind last night, the islands will be in High Def this morning. Be sure to look over the ocean.
Weather will now begin to warm up each day. Looks like by Sunday we will see some 80s.
Santa Barbara actually saw 74 yesterday, after a cold start.
Needless to say, it is going to be a great weekend to be out side.
We can all begin to clean up our decks and yards from the winters rains, but don’t think the rain is over.
Rain is in the forecast for next Tuesday night and Wednesday now.
In the mean time, enjoy the next 6 days of great weather.
3/12/19 Forecast
Good Tuesday morning,
Monday presented us with a few surprising showers in Santa Barbara.
These were not in our forecast area, but they were to the south of us.
Rain was enough to get the streets wet, but did not really record as rainfall.
Just enough to create excitement on open roofs and scramble with out plastic.
Today the low that pushed through the area is moving into Baja Mexico.
No more showers here, but LA will likely see some.
North facing mountains in LA even saw 6 to 12 inches of snow last night.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Today we clear the low away, but later this afternoon a weak disturbance will create wind.
No rain with this one. Pretty good north west winds this afternoon and evening.
Wednesday high pressure builds in. We warm up and dry out.
We are looking at good warm weather through the weekend with 70s and low 80s on Sunday.
“now that will be a treat “
Enjoy the day, wind and cooler today.
Warming each day….
3/11/19 Forecast
Good Monday morning,
Sunday weather behaved as forecast. Some showers over the hills, but none made it to the coastal areas except for Carp and a bit of Ventura.
Today, there is a low pressure system spinning off shore. This is far enough to the west that it will not affect our weather.
This is going to continue south then east into Mexico later today. The only chance of rain or snow will be over the mountains to the south:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Tuesday another weak system rolls through. This will do nothing more than create wind Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Thursday we begin a warm up. We will see 70 degree mark for the first time in awhile.
Friday a weak troft, but will not do anything more than cool us slightly. The weekend will be dry Saturday, high pressure builds in again.
Sunday will be quite warm as off shore flow will warm us up to some 80 degree readings.
All in all, this is the first week in a long time that rain will not be in the forecast.
That’s a nice thing.
I am sure everyone will agree that we need a break.
Enjoy the week, it starts out cooler, then warms as the week goes on.
3/10/19 Sunday
Good Sunday morning,
Did you turn your clock ahead? If you did not, it is an hour later than you think.
I actually slept in until 5:30 today… daylight saving time….
Today will be another cool and cloudy day. Looks like dry through the morning, then a chance of rain or snow this afternoon.
This system is dry and cold. The best chance of rain is in the mountains.
This afternoon you will see the pretty puffy clouds over the mountains.
If they fill up enough, you will see rain along the coast and snow above 3500 feet.
It will not amount to much, and showers will be spotty. Some areas can see 1/4 of an inch and others none.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
There is a second band of rain that looks like it will affect Orange County and LA later today. This will likely score them 1/4 of an inch.
Rain-snow chances go away tonight. It looks like Monday and Tuesday will be cooler but dry.
Tuesday night, an inside slider brings a slight chance of rain. Really I think it will only be about the wind.
Windy Wednesday.
Then the good news…….High pressure builds in. We will see a warming trend and the first 70 degree day in a long time….
Even better news…. looks like Sunday we could even see some locations hit 80 degrees.
Ok that’s your Sunday update. Sunrise is later, but it is all about the sunset at 7pm.
Enjoy, spring starts next Thursday with warming temps
3/9/19
Good Saturday morning,
After night, we will see one more hour of day light in the evening. Yes it is spring forward time.
This is actually good for myself and Lynn, because we might be getting up in the 5am hour instead of 3 or 4am.
Don’t forget to put your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed.
As far as the forecast goes, today will be dry, but there is a weak system heading right a the central coast:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
This will cause rain to the north and a chance of rain in Santa Barbara. I think everyone will see rain from Santa Ynez to the north.
Santa Barbara and south will see very little. 1/10 is about right. This system rolls east on Sunday and another runs at us from Oregon.
This system is over land and is moisture starved. It is also quite cold. Snow levels will drop below 4000 feet.
This one again is weak. Any rain or snow will be on the lighter side.
Monday we clear out again and one more inside slider drops over us Tuesday.
Models have moved this more west, but now move it back to the east and overland.
This one should just give us wind. Wednesday we clear out again.
Then Thursday, high pressure moves in. This is going to set us up for a nice Friday and likely weekend.
For the first time in almost 2 months we will see temps hit 70 degrees. That’s a nice thing.
As far as the lakes go, Cachuma is over 70% at 70.9%.
https://rain.cosbpw.net/site.php?site_id=105&site=70729dd9-97d4-430a-9271-7b6c195b49be
Nacimiento is at 79% going to over 80% today.
All in all, we are setting up for a dryer pattern, with a few weak systems rolling through the next 3 nights.
Don’t expect much rain. At best, areas to the north will see 1/4 from each. Santa Barbara likely 1/10 from each, then wind….
Enjoy the weekend, still cold…next weekend is promising at this point to be warm.
3/8/19 Forecast
Good Friday morning,
Today a little wind and a few showers in areas. Last night the rain was really from Santa Ynez and to the north. For us in SB just some wind.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Most systems that move from north to south do not give Santa Barbara much rain, Because the mountain block the clouds.
This will be the case as we have 2 more weak systems that will affect us in the next 4 days .
We should be dry today, Saturday and Sunday during the day.
Sunday night the next weak, north to south system rolls in.
This will not do much. 1/10 to 1/4 inch of rain in most area. Santa Barbara May see no rain.
Tuesday another system flows in north to south. This is also weak and should not do more then give us wind.
Wednesday looks like high pressure build in and a ridge will keep rain away for the rest of the week .
Bottom line, it looks like we are looking at a relatively dry week of the 10th of March.
We are more than happy to see that.
Each day is really getting longer. From the start to the end of each day. Sunset is now approaching 6 pm and sunrise is in the 5am hour.
Don’t forget daylight savings Saturday night. Turn you clocks ahead.
Where day light will not start until 6:40 am we will have sunlight until 7pm.
Enjoy the changing season, we all have earned this one.
Now for the exciting news…. Cachuma is going to top the 70% mark today … 69.8% right now.
https://rain.cosbpw.net/site.php?site_id=105&site=70729dd9-97d4-430a-9271-7b6c195b49be
Jack Martin
3/7/19 Thursday Forecast
Good Thursday morning,
It is great to look outside and see day light starting at 5:30 am.
We will have 1 dry day before another storm rolls in tonight. The next weather system will be cold, with snow levels at 4000 feet.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
It will also bring just a little rain. We are looking at 1/10 to 1/4 of an inch between Thursday night and Friday morning.
Friday is looking to be dry for the most part, but cold. Snow levels will drop to 3000 feet.
Saturday and Sunday also look to remain dry, and chilly. Temps will be 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
Saturday night or 3am Sunday, we turn our clocks ahead. You will lose an hour of sleep, but gain an hour of light in the evenings. Great news for lynn and myself who get up to early every morning.
Sunday night into Monday, another weak system rolls in. Again cold and dry. This is looking to be an inside slider. Meaning the low is to track over land with very little moisture. We will see a few showers, but mostly winds from the northwest.
Tuesday and Wednesday looks to set up a dry northwest flow, so we might be looking at a break in the Action.
All the rain has really helped the lakes. Lake Cachuma is approaching 70% at 68.3% right now.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Nacimiento is at 75% …. All the rain is going to make a great lake season.
Bring a jacket today, it is cool out there… no umbrella needed no matter what the TV says.
3/6/2019 Weather Update
Good Wednesday morning,
Yep. It’s Wednesday, so it must mean it will rain.
What a show last night, no TV last night. The show was in the skies.
This was the best I have ever seen in Santa Barbara. Here are a few photos For us.
We received 1.5 to 2 inches so far, but it is not over.
Rain is going to continue through the day.
Rain will pick up later today with possible showers with 1/2 to 1 inch rates per hour. Expect to see another 1/2 to 1 inch coastal and 1 to 2 inches in the mountains. LA is getting hammered right now.
Tonight, still a chance of showers, but rain will taper away.
Thursday for the most part will be dry, but still a chance of showers. 30% Thursday night and Friday morning. One more round of rain. This will be on the lighter side. Friday afternoon we dry out for 2 days. Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon will be dry.
Sunday night and Monday morning, one more rain storm. Again on the lighter side.
Ok that’s it for the morning. I am still amazed with what I watched last night.
Enjoy the day!
3/5/2019 Rain Forecast
Good Tuesday morning,
Are we ready for Action…… well you will need to wait until this afternoon.
The low pressure system has slowed it’s movement some, so rain will hold off 4 hour from predictions of yesterday.
Looks like the 12 to 1pm hour is about right for the rain to start.
Rain will start up around 1pm and pick up intensity as the afternoon turns to evening.
6pm to 6am will see the heaviest rain, really the 6am part is over LA. For us the heaviest rain should taper around 2 am.
As this system approaches, it is going to stall over the SLO and Santa Barbara counties.
This will bring us a longer period of heavy rain. We are looking at 1/2 to 8/10 of an inch per hour.
There will be good south flow and winds of 15 to 25 miles an hour.
With this, clouds will hit the hills and ring out the rain cloud.
Expect the heaviest accumulations over our south-facing mountains of SB and Montecito. 3 to 5 inches is expected.
Hence the reason for the evacuation notices. I was on 2 different roofs Monday, and I could hear the creeks flowing.
With all the recent rain, creeks are going to fill up quickly. Rain in most coastal areas will be 1.5 to 3 inches.
Rain holds off in LA till later tonight. Heavy rain will be after midnight to 6 am.
Wednesday, we will still see showers throught out the day.
Thursday, another cold system approaches. This will produce some rain and lower snow levels to 4000 feet. Thursday night into Friday.
Saturday and most of Sunday will be dry, but still cool with temps below normal.
Sunday night the next system rolls in, rain chances continue into Monday. All of our efforts are really on the next 24 hours, as this event is going to be very active.
Get ready for an event like we had a month ago…
Here are the evacuation zones:
