March 2017

3/22/17 Good Wednesday Morning

Nice rain on Tuesday. We exceeded the totals that were predicted. The big winners were Montecito with 1.68 inches, and San Marcas pass with 2.46 inch.  Along the coast area most areas received an inch.

Today, we will have a spotty day. It will be sunny, cloudy, and wet at times. Rain is to the north right now, but at some point this afternoon we will likely see rain. Rain amounts will be very spotty. Some areas see no rain, others up to 3/4 of an inch. Most of the rain will be over the mountains. You will see the clouds forming especially in the afternoon. These may spill over us and give us rain at times.

Thursday and Friday we dry out for a few days.

Friday night and Saturday, the rain returns. This storm will create rain, we are just not sure how much yet. So we will only say rain ending Saturday afternoon.

In the meantime spring showers today….Enjoy!

3/20/17 Spring Rain

Welcome to the first day of spring. March the 20th and the first day of spring will start out with rain. The rain is on track to start from north to south. Rain will start in the SLO area late this morning then drop south. It should hit us early evening.

Here it is spinning off the coast of northern California.

Looks like the rain will be on the lighter side, however it will still add up to 1/2 to 1 inch through Tuesday.

Tuesday night though Wednesday the next wave arrives as the system stalls over LA. We will still need to see how far north the rain will carry. We are on the northern edge of the rain.

Looks like we will clear up for Thursday and Friday. With the next system arriving Friday night.

Expect rain Friday night and Saturday. This looks to have moderate rainfall. Let’s hope for a few inches this week.

Sunday a ridge builds back in and dry weather returns.

Enjoy the damp week!

Thursday, March 16th

Good morning,

Are all you Irish babies laying out your green cloths for Friday? It should be a wild St Patty’s day with it on a Friday.

My wife was born March 17th Peggy  Molloy… that’s Irish…. I am sure that first march 17th there was a big party at the Molly house.

For our weather. St Patty’s day will be as good as it can get. A matter of fact, today will be quite nice. Thursday and Friday we will see some high clouds, but warm temps. Friday some areas will see 80s back in there neighborhoods.

Saturday the changes start, low pressure will cool it down some.

Sunday expect some decent fog.

Monday morning you will likely wake up to drizzle.

Monday night through Tuesday the rain comes back. At this point we are not really sure how much, but light to moderate is likely. In the 1/2 to 1 inch mark.

Some showers Wednesday into Thursday as the cold air moves in, but showers will be mainly over the mountains. Long range model are still talking about another storm system later next week.

You will just need to stay tuned for more details.

The next 2 days will be sunny and warm. Followed by dry cooler weather Saturday and Sunday. Still a nice weekend.

3/10/17 Good Friday Morning

I thought for a moment, do I even need a forecast today. I decided I should do a quick one, so everyone was ready for the weekend.

No real changes from what we have been talking about. The storm track is in the Pacific Northwest, where they are getting pounded with rain and snow.

For us, high pressure breaks down for a day. There is actually a sea breeze that will keep the coastal areas around 70. The valley will still be in the upper 70s.

Saturday high pressure builds back in. It will be a nice day.

Saturday night don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead……

Sunday will be a WOW DAY… sunny with highs in the mid-80s. Paulo and I will be on our bikes in the morning.

Everyone needs to get outside and enjoy this first day of daylight savings.

Monday, just as nice as Sunday.

Tuesday though the week, there is still no rain in site…. enjoy the summer like weather…hammock

Question, did we turn on the desal plant yet ?? It should be that time …

3/7/17 Great Weather This Week

Are you ready for some summer weather. >>>

Where Monday was nice, it was still very chilly.

Today you are waking to cooler weather. Valleys are really chilly with around 32 to start the day. That will quickly change. Today will be 10 to 15 degrees warmer then Monday. Everyone should reach the 70 mark, with a few areas in the mid 70s.

Wednesday even gets better, with 3 to 6 degrees warmer. 70s and some low 80s in valleys.

Thursday will feel like summer. Just around everyone will hit the 80 mark, some even the mid-80s.

Friday will be very much like Thursday. Maybe just a few degrees cooler, but still around 80.

The weekend even looks good. Not as warm, but spring is in the air.

Speaking of that, Saturday night we put our clocks ahead one hour. That’s great for the extra hour of light at night. Even better for Lynn and Jack, because we will maybe get up a little later in the morning.

Enjoy the fantastic weather. No rain in site for the next week at least…
