Happy Feb 29th. Leap year day…. a once every 4 year event. I am sure the news will be talking about new born’s today.
The weather has a big change today, after being spoiled all week with summer like weather. .today will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Friday with some wind to add to the mix.
Tonight the Low Pressure system draws closer and we continue to cool down.
Sunday will be another 10 to 15 degrees cooler. Everyone will see a chance of rain…again another weak system with 1/10 to 1/4 of an inch. There will be shower chances through the night.
Monday, it all clears out and we are looking at dry weather again for the week…march is starting out with another dry month.
Looking out into the long range forecast, we do see a chance for a good storm next weekend…
If you believe the long range forecast, we should see a stronger system affect our weather late next week.
For those of you that have not seen rain in a while …here you go…this is what it looks like…
Here in Hawaii we are going to have a wet Saturday…
Enjoy the weekend…. I am back Monday night
2/28/2020
Good Friday morning,
Hope everyone is well. It appears your weather has been warmer than mine here in Hawaii.
Where upper 70s and 80s have been the Norm for you. This will begin to change over the weekend.
Today you will see one more day of above normal temps with highs again in the upper 70s and low 80s.
Tonight a warm night with lows around 60.
2/24/2020
New National Kobe Bryant day 😀
Also the first day of a heat wave in February…..
Yes, another disappointment over the weekend with the lack of rain.
The only excitement was in the Montecito hills where a thunder storm caused hail for a short time.

Good Sunday morning,
The rain Saturday was another dud. Enough to get the streets wet and see the rain in the hills. Other than that…another reminder that 2020 has turned dry.
Big winner is old man mountain with .26 inches.

Good Saturday morning,
As you wake up and roll outside you will find it dry……Yes the rain decided to wait until we woke up…
The Cut off low is still spinning off shore and moving south of coastal waters:

Good Friday morning,
Well there it is….Our cut-off low spinning over the ocean around 500 West of point conception.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Today we will see weak off shore winds that will keep us mostly sunny.
The low to the west will remain parked and spinning into late afternoon, then move East towards us.
02/20/2020
Another day with lots of 2s and 0s …. and guess what !!!!
It is going to Rain ……
yes, after a very long dry spell we are finally going to see some rain. Over night Friday:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Let’s start with today, sunny and off shore winds. Another nice day.
2/08/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
Not a lot of changes to report…. off shore winds or Santa Ana winds are going to affect mountains and valleys.
Coastal areas should see little to no wind. Valleys 25 to 35 miles an hour and mountains 35 to 45.

What a great Sunday. I hope you took my advise and went to Hendry’s beach for the walk. I know a few of my friends did. I saw Adam, Jimmy and Rick on our beach walk.
Wrapping up the great day, I heard this song.
You need to play this and watch this.
For those of you that were alive in 1973, what a classic song.

Good Sunday morning,
It is hard to complain about the lack of rain after a day like Saturday.
What a fantastic mid February day it was. I hope everyone got outside to enjoy it.
It was just another picture perfect day to share with all. Even Pearl was very happy to be outside and chasing the ball.

Good Saturday morning,
I hope everyone had a Good Friday night and Valentine’s Day.
Driving down Milpas street was a Sea of red, with flowers, stuffed animals to Red dresses on display.
I think there was someone on just about every corner selling flowers on my drive home.
2/14/2020
Happy Valentine’s Day,
We will see sunshine and warmer weather after a cool start to the morning.

There is really not much to say about the weather pattern other than we will not be seeing any rain in the foreseeable future.
2020 Rain
Good Thursday morning,
Here is a real graphic of what we have been talking about for the past 2 months.
Sadly, there is no change in sight through the month. The first chance for rain is on the 26th of February and this does not appear to be a strong system….
I guess the best we can hope for is a March miracle.
2/12/2020
Not much excitement in the weather front, other than the drought conditions continue.
This is a sad state for us, since we got off to such a good start at the end of 2019.
2/11/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
Yesterday was quite warm in the sunshine. We hit 77 for a high in Santa Barbara.
Even if it felt much cooler at time. I must have taken my jacket on and off 1/2 a dozen times.
Today we have off shore winds, sunny skies and wind from the northeast in LA to Ventura. Yes a typical Santa Ana event.
2/10/2020
Good Monday morning,
If you can’t hear it, you will feel the wind as soon as you walk outside.
Winds are blowing 60 miles an hour in the mountains and 30 miles an hour at my house.
Yesterday, the storm passed through to give us clouds over the mountains with some light showers.
The best we could muster for rain was some drops on my windshield.
2/9/2020
Good Sunday morning,
A weak weather system is working its way from the north. This will affect the weather for the day.
This is a cold system with very little moisture, but wind. You can see this moving north to south over land.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/weus/h5-loop-wv.html
You can see the little blob over the coast. This could produce some rain for us, but most likely Ventura south and in the mountains.
2/08/2020
Good Saturday morning,
The weekend has arrived. This morning as you walk outside you will know off shore has turned to onshore flow.
At 4am I could feel and smell the dampness in the air as I feed Pearl. Of course she is back in bed now!!!!
Today will be a nice day, with just some dampness this morning. Highs will be in the upper 60s, still a nice Saturday.
Tonight the cold low pressure system moves closer to us. Once again it will get cold… I can’t remember a winter that has been this cold in Santa Barbara.
2/7/2020
Good Friday morning,
The weekend is almost upon us.
Today looks to be another nice day with temps in the low 70s.
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Saturday, a storm system to the north will begin to affect our weather. Marine layer and onshore flow will begin Saturday morning.
2/5/2020
Good chilly Wednesday morning,
Another bitter cold start to the day, with freezing temps in the valleys and upper 30s to low 40s coastal.
Once again our weather will be dominated with high pressure and off shore winds:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html
Today we will see a gradual warm up as high pressure builds in. Still a chilly morning, but warmer as the sun heats the air.
2/03/2020
Good super Monday,
I am sure none of us will be one of those 18 million people calling in sick today 😀.
If you are just waking up, walking outside is going to be a chilly experience.
2/02/2020
Good Super Bowl Sunday,
Lots of 2s in the date today …. also what a super Saturday it was… 83 degrees at my house. It was quite a treat for February 1st. Our weather was better than Miami.
Today as you wake up and look outside you can see and feel the difference if you live along the beach. The fog and onshore flow has moved in.
2/01/2020
Good Saturday morning,
It is going to be a Saturday to remember on Feb 1st 2020. High pressure is going to give us warm temps and some record highs today.
Highs everywhere should be 80s or close to it. With record highs , just a few days later we will have record lows.
A gulf of alaska storm will bring freezing temps Tuesday morning.
I guess I jumped a few days, so let’s back up and talk about the forecast day to day.
Saturday, the warmest day year to date. Most locations will see 80s.
Tonight, still warm with 40 to 50s in areas.
