August 2019

8/30/19 Labor Day Weekend Forecast

Good Friday morning,

The long weekend is only a few hours away. For us the weather is going to be a sunny dull forecast. Just great weather coastal. Inland is going to be too hot for me.

90s and low 100s. Looks like we will have some sundowner winds tonight, but mainly in north Goleta.

The only storm here will be on the freeways.

Florida however, is not going to enjoy there time off. Long lines at stores and A cat 3 or 4 hurricane will hit on Monday.

Watch this video, it will warm your hearts….bear cub gets caught in a dumpster and the police help out after the bear and cub can’t do it themselves.

8/28/19 Atlantic 5-Day Graphical Tropical Weather Outlook

Good Wednesday morning,

No excitement here in California, just sunshine, warm temps and a great week ahead.

So let’s look at some excitement. The East coast and Caribean is battling 2 tropical storms this weekend.

It looks like the one over the Carolina will stay off shore, but Dorian will tag a few islands on the Atlantic and land in Florida. Just in time to greet cruise ship people.

If your out to sea on a ship, I am sure you are making a loop around the tropical storm.

For those setting sail this weekend, it is going to be a wet, and bumpy start to your vacation.

Ok, enjoy great weather here in the west.

8/27/19 Good Tuesday Morning

Summer is in full swing, with not a lot to report. Of course this weekend is Labor Day weekend and there will be lots of Action in Santa Barbara.

I think this year will be the second anniversary of the micro burst that we had over the Labor Day weekend in 2017.

I don’t expect we will see anything like that, but there is a chance the monsoonal flow will move over LA mountains and deserts late this weekend.

Good thing we don’t live in Florida or the Caribbean, because Doran is going to make there weather exciting, but not fun.

For us this weekend the streets will fill, shops will be busy and downtown will thrive.

Traffic is another story. Keep off the freeways after 1pm Friday and Monday day time. It will be busy.

For now, weather is not too complicated. Ivo is just to the west, throwing us some high clouds and humidity.

There will be a pretty sunrise and sunset. Other than that, there is no impact.

https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html

Fog is pretty much a non factor all week. We will see clearing quickly where it does exist.

Temps will be great around the coastal areas. Highs in the low 80s and a few degrees above normal.

Inland areas, you will remain quite warm, with 90s and triple digits in Paso and some valleys. Great Lake weather, you want to be near water.

The beaches will be the place to be this weekend. Fantastic weather, and we will see the start of a new month.

Yes, September is right around the corner. The good news is summer continues for 2 more months here in southern California.

Enjoy your week, and especially time off from work. It will be a perfect time to enjoy the outdoors.

Don’t forget. We are in the last day for Best of Santa Barbara. If you have not voted, please vote for Action Roofing.

Vote online at independent.com/bestof2019.

Remember this …. interesting to watch again

Ok, have a great week!

8/20/19

Good Tuesday morning,

I love this time of the year. Warm evenings and calm winds makes it so nice sitting outdoors at sunset and listening to music.

As we wake up this morning, the coastal fog is gone. We will have sunny skies all day. High pressure is building in and inland areas are going to heat up.

Expect the Santa Ynez valley to warm up into the upper 90s. SB will remain in the upper 70s and low 80s. Just perfect !!!

Tonight might be a little different then last night because we are expecting some sundowner winds to affect our area starting around 6 PM.

Winds will blow from the northwest and will give us gusts of up to 35 miles an hour.

Looks like the trends of today will continue all week, and into the weekend.

Hot inland and warm coastal.

As mentioned earlier, just great California summer time weather. While everyone else in the country bakes from heat and humidity.

Enjoy another great week in California. We are so lucky to have come west….

Check out the pictures from my new house at sunset. Really nice !!!

Have a great day.

8/16/19 Perfect Weather for the Weekend

Perfect Weekend Ahead

This is why we love southern coastal California. Never too hot and never too cold.

Here we are in the middle of August and everyone else is hot or wet.

We just have to put up with damp mornings and mid to upper 70s.

This trend goes through the weekend and into next week, with a warm up early next week.

Even the valleys will be pleasant this weekend, with highs in the mid 80s.

Temps there will be on the rise next week.

For today, we start with damp streets, cars and roofs. Clearing by 11 am to sunshine and highs in the upper 70s.

Have a great weekend!

8/13/19

Good Tuesday morning,

Summer vacation is almost over for the Kids. Time to go back to school, with many of them starting next week.

Today we are starting off with a little fog along the coastal areas.

This will burn off by 11 am and sun will prevail. Inland areas will see only sunny skies.

With highs in the low to mid 90s. Coastal areas will be mid 70s to low 80s.

Wednesday should be the warmest day of the week, with valleys some 10 degrees above normal.

On Friday we should begin a cooling trend into the weekend.

Looks like valley areas will be very pleasant at highs of 85 degrees.

Coastal areas through the weekend will be cooler with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Next week look for another blast of warm air with temps on the rise once again.

Not a lot of Action in the pacific right now… but here is the view from the satellite.

8/12/19

Good Monday morning,

I hope everyone has been enjoying great Aug weather. The weather has been fantastic.

It is always nice to come back to no humidity, or bugs.

Our weather this week is going to be another perfect week, with lots of sun, temps in the upper 70s to the low 80s along the coast.

Valleys and inland areas will be hot… head to the beach, if you can.

https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html

Looks like there is a tropical depression down by Cabo right now.

Henriette is creating surf, but no harm to Cabo. This will just drift out to sea.

Ok, that’s it for the day, time to get caught up at work.

 See you on the streets.

Viva La Fiesta!

The one day a year that work comes to a stop, because traffic is a mess and workers want to fiesta.

For all that love, the parade it will be perfect weather to watch.

Highs in the mid 80s today in Santa Barbara.

If you look at the satellite, you will find a huge area of cloudless skies over where we live.

https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html

This is thanks to high pressure over the 4 corners.

Temps will be quite warm with mid 80s through Monday and triple digits in the valleys… hot hot 🥵 there.

It might be a good reason to come to the coast and enjoy fiesta …

Next week, not much of a change, we are in an August pattern. Where lots of sun and warm temps prevail.

The monsoonal flow is staying away for now, but parts of Arizona and Mexico are getting some heavy rain from thunder storms.

None is our areas for the next week.

Enjoy fiesta, I will be far away from the craziness ….

Enjoy, and drink water in between your other beverages, or you will be one of those people that are going to have a headache on Saturday morning…
