Good Friday morning,
One last day of hot weather and the last day of April before we usher in May.
Wow how about the weather last night, it was just fantastic. I sat outside on the patio and watched the NFL draft. It felt like summer.
Today we will see summer like weather again with highs in the 80s and 90s for all.

Tonight, west of Goleta and toward Gaviota, the sundowner winds will blow you around on your commute home if you live to the North.
Saturday and the first day of May will bring us onshore flow and cool the air into the mid 70s.
Fog for some locations, but where the sundowner winds occur, the clouds might be blown offshore. The weekend weather will be nice with 70s and some fog. The central coastal areas will likely stay in the 60s.
If your thinking about heading to the lake, weather will be pleasant in the mid 80s. Nice boating weather.
Next week, we welcome May with May gray being the words of choice. Foggy along the coast with warmer temps in the valleys.
Enjoy the weekend, it is here for the city of Santa Barbara and those who work the flex week schedule. My employees will love the Friday off the roofs and hopefully at the beaches with families.
Have a great weekend, Go to Disneyland, it is open again 😊

Wow, take a look at the forecast highs for today. You better break out the shorts.
The heatwave is on for the next 2 days, get ready for hot temps.
Friday night a low pressure system approaches, bringing SB another round of evening sundowner winds.
Some cooling for the weekend, but still nice.
Until then, enjoy the summertime weather.

Good Wednesday morning,
Rolling out of bed this morning, you should just open your door and feel the warmth. It is 66 degrees out there right now at this early hour.
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-119.69851686246696&lat=34.43183254485123
This was all thanks to those north west winds last night in SB that blew me off my outside deck. Needless to say, it is going to be a warm day. Highs should bring us into the low 80s with just great weather for the next 3 days.
Winds shift to the Northeast today, so Ventura south will get the winds at a reasonable 10 to 20 miles an hour. Thursday and Friday will bring us record breaking warmth, highs will be in the 80s with 90s in most locations.
This is all thanks to high pressure and off shore winds. Just great summer weather. The weekend brings in a weak system that will switch off shore to onshore. This will just bring us 10 degrees of cooling.
Next week it looks like a slight warm up but nothing to note at this point. As we end April with a mini heat wave, it will begin to feel like summer. Enjoy the fantastic weather the next 3 days.

Good Tuesday morning,
Last night, the winds reminded us that it is springtime as north winds picked up around sunset.
Today we start the transition from Spring to summer weather. Today the Mercury will begin to climb with nice weather in the mid 70s and lots of liquid gold.
Wednesday through Friday, it is all about warmer to hot. Wednesday, most locations will hit the 80 degree mark.
Thursday it gets warmer with 80s and 90s, both Thursday and Friday. Records will be broken during these 2 days.
Saturday and Sunday, onshore returns with some cooling, but defined as mid 70s, still so nice.
Valleys will likely be closer to 80 by Sunday.
Next week looks to warm up as we start the month of May.
Forecast Error
Enjoy the great warm weather this week, you deserve it 😀

Good Thursday morning,
Can you say April showers? Well the models are now coming together with the rain becoming likely for Sunday night into Monday.
For today, it will be a foggy day with dampness. The marine layer has deepened and can even bring some drizzle for the morning. It will be a cool day, with highs in the low to mid 60s.
Tonight, the onshore flow continues, so you will likely wake to a typical May Gray morning.
Friday and Saturday, a weak ridge builds in and will warm us up some.
The warmest areas will be the valleys where the coast will still see some morning fog breaking a little earlier than today.
Highs in the upper 60s coastal and 70s in the valleys.
Sunday will start out like Saturday, but as a low pressure system drops from the Gulf of Alaska. This will trigger a wet Sunday night in north county and south county Monday morning.
All models are now beginning to be in line with the rain chances. It looks like a 3 to 6 hour period of light to moderate rain, with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of wet stuff. Mountains can see up to an inch.
This really will do nothing for our water supply, but you can turn off your sprinklers for a few days, and the hills might remain greener an extra week. This is all good considering we have seen very little rain in California this year.
Tuesday looks to start a warming trend with highs in the 70s. Enjoy the fun, don’t pack the umbrella just yet.

Good Wednesday morning,
Very interesting weather out there. Zoom out and look towards the Philippines. You will see a typhoon way to the west. This is the system that could possibly create rain early next week. The Jury is still out on this, because the forecast models all vary on the rain possibility.

Now if you zoom in you can see, we are covered with a marine layer 4500 ft thick.
This will give us a cloudy day with fog sticking around into the afternoon highs around 65 today.
Thursday, more of the same, there can even be some drizzle or light rain in some locations.
Friday, a weak ridge builds for the weekend. Highs will vary from the mid 60s to the low 70s. It looks like Saturday will be the warmest day, with the least fog.
Sunday, a little cooler but dry.
Now we are at Monday and Tuesday. This is where it gets interesting, models do vary on how the moisture from the typhoon will affect us. We will see how this develops in the next 72 hours when the long range models shift to short range.

Good Tuesday morning,
Sunny skies to start the day in SB but a cooler week is on the way.
The Santa Ynez valley is starting with fog today.

Today, expect some cooling with highs in the upper 60s. Fog rolls in tonight for most, keeping the lows a little higher.
Wednesday looks like fog for all, with sun breaking in the afternoon. Wednesday night and Thursday, a deeper marine layer with more dampness and possible light drizzle. Friday transitions to a weak ridge for the weekend. Still, fog to start the day with highs in the mid 60s.
The weekend looks to warm up slightly with fog breaking earlier. Monday as the news has been advertising, there is a chance for rain.
Personally it is too far out to call for rain, and if it does, it will be very light. We will wait and see how this develops as the week goes on.
Nothing to worry about now.
One last thing, I have to Plug Southwest Airlines. We flew over the weekend out of Santa Barbara to visit my son in Austin, Texas.
Easy flight connections and just heavenly to be able to fly out of Santa Barbara and connect to so many cities through Southwest Airlines. This will also bring us tourism for Santa Barbara. I fly in at 11am Monday, and I have never seen the Santa Barbara airport so busy.
We need to book flights and support Southwest to keep them flying out of SB.
Photos are from the Denver connections with snow there. No snow here just a cooler week.

Good Monday morning,
It sounds like it was a fantastic day Sunday in Southern California. Camarillo hit a high of 89 degrees, LAX 87 degrees to break a record in both locations. Santa Barbara also tied there record high at 79 degrees.
Today you will see one more day of warmth and or heat. Highs today should be in line with Sunday. Expect some north winds at 25 miles an hour, increasing the fire danger. Only Lompoc and Santa Maria are seeing some fog to start out the day, but that will be short lived.

Tonight we will start to see a change with onshore flow coming back. This will bring us cooler days with fog along the coast through Thursday. Even a chance for some drizzle in LA Wednesday.
Friday we start a warm up and the weather for the weekend will be pleasant.
Sunday night, the models are suggesting that a low pressure system may hold together, brining some rain to the central coast. It should not make it to SB, but stay tuned.
Enjoy one more great day of weather, before we cool down for Tuesday.
Ok employers, let’s see how many people call in sick for today it is not even sunrise and I am at one…..
Have a great day at work 😃 unless you are retired!

Oh my, it is April 15th. The day my bank account takes a hit.
I hate the idea of working my…….off and giving the state-feds half my earning.
They certainly do not work as hard for it…. Ok enough of my rant.
The consolation prize is, we are starting a warming trend with a nice 5 days ahead of us.
Today some areas are starting out with fog, but the marine layer is half of what it has been this week.
Santa Barbara is clear thanks to the Northwest winds last night.
https://zoom.earth/#view=35.6,-111,5z/date=2021-04-15,05:20,-7
A weak Eddie to the south has some low clouds to start there day, then clearing by mid morning.
We will start a warming trend also with temps rising 3 to 5 degrees.
Tonight, a little sundowner event for SB, but nothing crazy.
Friday, we start to trend warmer as on shore turns to off shore flow With Continued warming.
Saturday, we will see a weak Santa Ana wind event with warming each day through Monday.
Highs will be in the 70s and 80s in the valleys. It will be just a great weekend.
Santa Ana winds to the South will remain light at around 10 to 15 miles an hour.
Looking into next week, Tuesday we turn to onshore flow.
Some cooling with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and marine layer returning along the coast.
Ok that’s a wrap for the forecast today, I am off to Austin Texas on Southwest out of Santa Barbara on Friday. I am very excited about Southwest here in our town. Looking forward to seeing where all the 30 something are moving. This is the new home of my 30 something son and family 😄
Enjoy, for the record, our weather in SB will be much better than Austin Texas.

Good Tuesday morning,
We are Starting the day with fog throughout the coast and most valleys.
This is thanks to low pressure to the north, bring onshore flow.
Tonight and Wednesday, more of the same. Even some drizzle possible towards LA, cooler days in the 60s.
Thursday, we start to break out of the fog with some warming and more sun.
Friday more sun and slight warming.
The weekend is looking good now. Looks like warming.
Sunday and Monday off shore flow and warming temps coastal areas 70s and 80s.
Some valleys might see low 90s.
Enjoy the cooler temps and fog.

Good Monday morning,
Yes, another start to the work week.
This week, however, will look a little different then we have had in the past.
We are welcoming back fog, which really has not played much of a role in our forecast in the last 5 months. We will also remain cooler through midweek with highs in the upper 60s.
https://zoom.earth/#view=38.9,-128.6,4.63z/date=2021-04-12,05:00,-7
Today, an Eddie is circulating south of us in LA which has brought on the marine layer.
Santa Barbara county will likely see the marine layer drift over us before sunrise.
It will be foggy for the first half of the day, before the sun shines. Highs today will be in the upper 60s.
Tonight, the fog layer will deepens and lows will stay warmer due to the fog.
Tuesday, another foggy start to the day. LA and areas south might even see some drizzle.
Clearing will be into the early afternoon, with highs in the mid 60s.
Tuesday night and Wednesday, a carbon copy of Tuesday.
Thursday and Friday, we start to climb out of the fog and coolness with more sunshine and warmer temps.
The weekend is still not clear. One model shows warming with a ridge and the other shows cooler and marine layer. We will wait to see how that devolops.
In the meantime, damp mornings are in the forecast for the first half of the week.
Have a great week, and get Vaccinated 😊!

Good Friday morning,
It was a nice day Thursday, until the wind came up in the evening. Driving home after work, it was 77 degrees last night.
The weather will be just fantastic today. Highs will be in the 70s and some 80s, but more winds tonight again.

Today is especially great for me, because I received my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. The best news “no side affects.“
Getting an appointment is not easy, it take some work, but worth it. Here are some sites to go to:
https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine
https://publichealthsbc.org/vaccine
It is a pain to get an appointment, I have been successful signing up early in the mornings. Good luck, I recommend Pfizer.
Saturday and the weekend will be great weather again with some winds in the evening through Saturday.
Sunday one more great day, before we see a change on Monday.
Monday into mid week we are looking at the return to onshore flow and some fog with cooler temps.
Ok , that’s it for now.
Have a great weekend 😊

Good Thursday morning,
Nice weather on tap for all, ”with the exception” of the winds.
Last night was great, sitting outside in the warm air. It is feeling like the change of seasons is here.
If you were at Refugio last night, you would know the winds were blowing 50 miles an hour.
Even some Montecito hills are feeling the winds.
Today will be a nice day overall, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
A low pressure system is moving through. This is going to produce pressure gradience and wind tonight.
Winds tonight should be felt further south from Refugio to Montecito. Wind gusts to 60 miles an hour in the hills, less at the coast.
Friday, the northwest winds will shift northeast, bringing more winds in the evening.
Overall, Friday will be another warm day, 5 to 10 degrees above normal.
Saturday, one more nice day, highs again in the mid to upper 70s.
Sunday, we will start a cool down through the first half of the week.
It looks like a few low pressure systems will pass to the East and bring back the marine layer and fog.
Temps will cool to the low 70s and upper 60s.
All in all, a nice weekend.
Enjoy.

Good Wednesday morning,
Just nice weather out there, with lots of sunshine.
Highs each day will climb a few degrees through Friday, then relax for the weekend.

Highs will be in the mid 70s today and climb into the upper 70s Thursday and Friday.
Enjoy the day, and a special shout out to Jay’s 60th birthday.
Happy Birthday Mr. O’Brien!

Good Tuesday morning,
Not a lot to say today since there are very few changes from yesterday.
Winds will continue for the next few days, they will be relatively light.
Highs continue to be in the mid 70s warming to the upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday before dropping back into the mid 70s for the weekend. All week it will be mostly sunny with little to no fog, where it does form, it should clear by mid morning each day.
A gloomy day for The Zags. Waco Texas, however, is rocking their big win last night.
Have a great day!
