Good Thursday Morning,
It is the last day of April and we will start up a new month on Friday.
Today we will start out with fog, but we will clear much earlier. It looks like noonish the sun will return.
4/29/2020
Good Wednesday morning,
Look, it is fog…..we have not seen much of this for some time…
The fog is around 800 feet thick and will burn off later this morning.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G17§or=wus&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12
Creating a cooler day with highs around 5 degrees cooler than Tuesday.
Expect low to mid 70s today.
4/28/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
High pressure and off shore winds are building back in today. This will provide a nice warm up for all.
Temps today will be the highest for the week. Inland areas and valleys like Santa Ynez will be in the 90s, Santa Barbara still really nice in the 80s.
4/27/2020
Good Monday morning,
Can you believe that another month is going into the record books.
Here we are April 27th and May will be here on Friday.
As we start a new week, the hot weather will turn to warm weather.
Highs Will still be in the upper 70s and low 80s, but we will shed the 90s.
Today is still starting out warm, with SB at 70 degrees.

Good Friday morning,
Wow, what a beautiful Thursday evening. It was so nice outside; I watched the sunset and enjoyed some music in my backyard.
The only downside to this heatwave has been the winds overnight. Montecito hill record wind gust of 88 miles an hour. Wind gust at my house was enough to blow the hot tub cover off. 🤔
4/23/2020
OMG, I got up at 3:30 and fed Pearl. It was so warm outside.
The heatwave has arrived. Look at these temps at 4:15 Am this morning.
You know it is going to be a hot day when you start with 75 degrees at 4am.
The heatwave is going to stick around through Tuesday of next week, but the hottest day will likely be Friday.
4/21/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
Are you ready…..for a big warm up…..
Today we will see the coolest day of the week. High will be 79…. That will tell you how hot it is going to be the rest of the week.
The low pressure system that went through yesterday is now spinning harmlessly over Vegas.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G17§or=wus&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12
This is more Action then Vegas has seen since it shut down….If I had the time, I would drive there just to see it at a stand still.

Good Monday morning,
The weekend was rather gloomy and cool. However, we have good things to come this week.
We just need to get through one more day of “so so weather”.Then we go from April to September weather.
Today a very weak low will pass over us and do nothing more than give us a day with some low clouds.
This low will track to Las Vegas later tonight and clear the way for a great week of summer like conditions.
4/17/2020
Good Friday morning,
Here it is. The weak low pressure system is right over us as you wake up. You can see it spinning over Santa Barbara area.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G17§or=wus&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12
This will push through quickly and move into Orange County this afternoon.
This system does not have much precept in the clouds, so very little rain will fall.
The best chance for rain will be this afternoon, with wrap around moisture over the mountains.
4/16/2020
Good Thursday morning,
Another week flying by……
After a great few days, we will start to transition back to cooler weather.
Today will still be nice, but we will cool off to the low 70s. Still a nice day.
Tonight the weak low approaches and should spread low clouds over us.
4/15/2020
Good Wednesday morning,
Tuesday we hit 81 degrees in Santa Barbara and today it is going to be another great day.
Highs today will be close to the same. Today will be your last day to take advantage of the warmer temps and sunshine.
Thursday a weak low drops South and this will bring back our onshore flow and the marine layer.
Overnight and into Friday the rain chances begin. Looking like some drizzle is likely with light rain.
4/13/2020
Good Monday morning,
I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Sunday.
Today we will have similar weather to Sunday. It will be very foggy this morning, some Ventura areas are seeing light rain and drizzle right now.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G17§or=wus&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12
Today will remain foggy most of the day, but Santa Barbara may see some sun late in the day.

This is just Amazing,
Absolutely incredible for how much rain we have received in March and the first 9 days in April.
The link below are Rain totals as of 8am yesterday, so as soon as the update comes in, I expect the entire county will be at 100% of rainfall and above for the year.
This shows Cachuma at 77.5 % yesterday, but that will only go up when we get 8 am updates.
I was in Montecito yesterday on a roof and I could hear the creeks roaring. It was sweet to listen to.

Good Wednesday morning,
The forecast this week has been all about the low pressure system. It has taken the stage for a show and wants to play all week long.
It has been spinning north to south and now is starting its Eastward move on shore.
You can get a good idea of where it is at from this picture from the sky:
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G17§or=psw&band=14&length=12
The bands of rain is spinning around our forecast area today and we are in the center.
4/7/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
Did you see the full moon this morning? It was like a flashlight shinning in my window.
This morning we are starting out will mostly clear skies, but don’t be fooled, more rain is on the way.
The low pressure system that has been parked over Northern California pumping subtropical moisture at us is shifted south and will begin to create more rain for us today and tonight.
4/6/2020
Good wet Monday morning,
Great rain totals, especially on San Marcos Pass with 5.47 inches so FAR ….
https://www.cnrfc.noaa.gov/images/countyPrecipMaps/santabarbara_24HRprecip.png
The low pressure system is still well to the north and you can see the low pumping in the subtropical moisture over us from the south.
The heaviest rain is beginning to move south now and Ventura to LA will get the heavy rain that we have received.
4/5/2020
Good Sunday morning,
Are you ready for some Action? We will get it from this strong low pressure system. This is a large system, with all the ingredients for a big storm. Spinning over Nor Cal still:
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12
Rain is as far south as Monterey right now.
4/4/2020
Good Saturday morning,
Blue skies and sunny weather today, but a strong winter storm is going to bring us heavy rain Sunday later in the afternoon.
Here is the low just now coming into northern California.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12
Today we will have a nice day with highs in the upper 60s.
4/3/2020
Good Friday morning,
It is going to be the nicest day in the next 7. So enjoy it, because it will change on Sunday.
Today we have weak off shore flow, which will make for a nice warm day, highs in the upper 60s and some low 70s.
Great day to get off work early …. Dina that means you on your birthday, I am for sure.
Saturday we will start with the off shore flow, then turn to on shore as the storm system nears us.
Here is what it looks like from the sky, you can see the low pressure system brewing on the satellite.
4/2/2020
Good Thursday morning,
Not a lot of excitement with the weather the next few days except for high surf on the central coast today, however, look out for late in the weekend. It is looking like we will see lots of rain, especially in Santa Barbara.
This system is still well to the north and will take its time getting here.
4/1/2020
Good morning,
It is that day. April Fools! With all joking aside, I hope there are not April Fools jokes today. None from me at least.
Yesterday was a great warm day. Highs were in the mid 70s . It was nice to think that warmer weather is on its way.
Today, however, will be a little cooler as off shore weakens and onshore comes back.
Today will bring highs in the upper 60s, with the central coast cooling off around 10 degrees from yesterday.
